IT HAPPENED! IT WENT! I SURVIVED!

And, miraculously enough, so did ALL of my students! All 24 quirky, funny, bright, wonderful third- and fourth-graders.

HOORAY!

And so, I thought it was probably time to post some pictures of my classroom!

Here's the view from the door. I have a very complicated Smartboard (that my students are MUCH better at figuring out than I am). My desk is in the corner under the TV, and I have the students at tables labeled by dinosaurs. Ignore my spoon laying on that desk...we had a potluck and, guess what, that spoon (along with my bowl and my leftover fruit) are still at school. :/

Another view of the front - our meeting area, and my rocking chair with that AMAZING dinosaur pillow my brother found for me!

That's the very long classroom covenant my kiddos came up with behind the rocking chair. They outlined exactly how to be responsible, respectful, safe, and productive in our classroom - our schoolwide PBS matrix. I'm still waiting on the cursive alphabet I ordered online to show up.

Further on, the side of the room - and the cool dinosaur stickers (another gift from my awesome brother)

Aaaand here's the back of the room! Our library (which the AMAZING teacher who was in this room before me left pretty much COMPLETELY filled), our Star Work board which is starting to fill up, and the group work table!

Our library :)

Here's our star work board- I haven't quite gotten around to filling it with their work yet, it's waiting in that basket..

Our PBS chart is in the back. Notice how all these amazing kiddos are still on green? Yeah, they're awesome.

 Their cubbies:

Aand that's pretty much it! I'm so in love with my classroom, and even MORE in love with my students. This week we practiced math workshop and I have high hopes to institute it starting on Monday - we'll see how that goes! Social studies is going to wait until we figure it out with the other 4th grade teachers, but it might even have to wait until after the MEAP.

For now, I am SUPER enjoying my first weekend of the school year! Vampire Diaries won't watch itself :)
